June 21, 2014
Professor Cale and Master Terry,
Thank you for the wonderful and surprise award you presented to me at the 15th Anniversary of the United States Martial Arts International Council, 2014 Hall of Fame ceremony.
I am honored and humbled with the Golden Eagle award, the highest USMAIC award, for being loyal and proud of our organization, and for being recognized, domestically and internationally, as a martial arts leader. Just as important for my award, is that you brought all martial art styles and systems, and their instructors, masters, grandmasters and their students together for an educational training. An affair of meeting old valued martial art friends with new ones to become one family.
You and your members are engrossed in one of the highest of all skills of man. Teaching others to gain self confidence and to attain more self respect with the ability to defend themselves against the unknown and untimely foe in this violent world we must live in today. Our training develops confidence in our daily life, professional work, school academics and sports. My teacher the late Bruce Lee was a master of the art I perpetuate. His vision in martial arts is to keep peace within ourselves so that we can be in peace with others.
I wish you much continued success with the USMAIC. God willing I hope to be with you for the next 15 years. Be Safe – Be Teaching – Be Water My Friend
Mahalo Nui Loa & A Hui Hou (Thank you very much, until we meet again)
Aloha, Richard S Bustillo
